Release notes
From 6 December 2021, the ATO is making changes to the lodgement of tax returns prior to 2014. This release includes all the required changes. See Changes to the ATO validation report for tax returns 2014 and prior for more information.
If you use Cashbook ledger, make sure you update to this hotfix. This release includes changes that are required for Cashboook ledgers to create general journal transactions successfully with client accounting.
Install guide
- You must have MYOB AE/AO version 5.4.41.43 installed. To check your current version, click Help > About.
Ensure you have administrator access to the server where MYOB AE/AO is installed. - Ensure all users are logged out of MYOB AE/AO.
- Go to my.MYOB and download the MYOB_AEAO_5.4.41_ANZ_Hotfix_KB73400898 file to your server location where you installed MYOB AE/AO.
- Double-click the executable to start the installation.
- In the Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard window, click Next.
- Select I accept the terms in the licence agreement. Click Next.

- In Ready to install window, click Install to start the installation.

- On the Install Completed window, click Finish.

Workstations are updated automatically as part of this hotfix if auto-updates are enabled. If auto-updates are disabled in your environment, run a workstation install on all workstations.
Follow the steps for the product and setup you use:
- Log in to the workstation as an administrator.
- Navigate to the setup.exe file on your server or computer where the server installation was performed:
- AE: \MYOBAE\AESQL\WorkstationInstall\setup.exe
- AO: \MYOBAO\AOSQL\WorkstationInstall\setup.exe
- Series 6/8: \Centralclient\setup.exe
- Double-click setup.exe.
- In the Software licence agreement window:
- Select I have read and accept the licence agreement
- Click Next.
- In the Ready to Install window click Install Now. The Installation Progress window opens.
On completion, the Installation Complete window opens.
- Click Finish. The workstation installation is complete.
If you receive an “Open file security” warning message when opening MYOB Accountants Enterprise on a workstation, click Run or OK.
Terminal server
- Log in to the terminal server console.
- Open Control Panel > Classic View.
- Click Install Application on Terminal Server.
- Click Add New Programs.
- Navigate to the setup.exe file on your server or computer where the server installation was performed:
- AE: \MYOBAE\AESQL\WorkstationInstall\setup.exe
- AO: \MYOBAO\AOSQL\WorkstationInstall\setup.exe.
- Series 6/8: \Centralclient\setup.exe
- Double-click setup.exe.
- In the Software licence agreement window, select I have read and accept the licence agreement and click Next.
- In the Ready to Install window, click Install Now.
The Installation Progress window opens.
If you receive the message, If you receive an “Open file security” warning message when opening MYOB Accountants Enterprise Workstation, it is recommended that you restart your computer, click OK.
On completion, the Installation Complete window opens.
- Click Finish. The workstation installation is complete.
Reboot the terminal server.
Post-installation steps
On your server or workstation, go to the Central\Deploy folder.
- Default server deploy folders:
(AE) C:\MYOBAE\AESQL\Central\Deploy
(AO) C:\MYOBAO\AOSQL\Central\Deploy
(AE Framework) C:\Program Files (x86)\MYOB\CENTRAL\Deploy
Sort the folder by Date modified.
- Find the following files and confirm the date modified:
- MYOB_Tax_Homepage: 12/01/2022
