Assigning a tax contact in Accountants Enterprise

In MYOB Accountants Enterprise Tax you will be required to assign a tax contact. If a tax contact is not present in a tax return this will result in validation error messages that will need to be resolved. These instructions will step you through assigning an already created Tax Contact.

Please refer to the appropriate procedure:

To use Contacts or Client Compliance to assign a Tax Contact
  1. If you use Contacts, go to Start > Programs > MYOB Accountants Enterprise > Contacts. The Contacts window appears.
  2. If you use Client Compliance, click on Client Compliance from within AE.
  3. Highlight the tax contact, and press ENTER. The details of the contact appear.
  4. Click the Attributes tab. The attributes of the contact appear.
  5. Click in the Tax Contact field. A drop-down list appears.
  6. From the drop-down list select the contact. The contact appears in the Tax Contact field.
  7. From the File menu, select Close. The Contacts window appears and the tax contact is assigned to the contact.
To use System Release to assign a Tax Contact
  1. Open and log into System Release. The Ledgers window appears.
  2. Highlight the required tax ledger and press ENTER. The Select return window appears.
  3. Right-click on the return you want to assign a tax contact to, and select Properties. The Return Properties window appears.
  4. Click the Staff tab. The Staff tab details display.
  5. Click the ellipses [...] button at the Contact field. The Select Contact window appears.
  6. Highlight the contact and then click Select. The contact appears in the Contact field.
  7. Click OK. The Select return window appears and the tax contact is assigned to the client's return.
To use AE Practice Manager to assign a Tax Contact
  1. From within the desired tax return, click the Properties 
    icon. The Return Properties window opens.
  2. Click the Staff tab. The Staff tab details display.
  3. Click the ellipses [...] button at the Contact field. The Select Contact window appears.
  4. Highlight the contact and then click Select. The contact appears in the Contact field.
  5. Click OK. The tax return appears and the tax contact is assigned to the client's return.
