Balance Sheet is out of balance where the Trust Funds account is 500-00

In MYOB Accountants Enterprise (AE) and Accountants Office (AO) Client Accounting, you may experience the Balance Sheet is out of balance where your chart of accounts contains "header" account codes with sub-account codes ending in 00. For example, a chart of accounts may have both the accounts 500 Trust Funds and 500-00 Trust Funds listed in Manage Accounts.

During the mapping of Account Groups in Statutory Reporter, when mapping the account, Statutory Reporter reads the -00 account as the same account code as the header account. This leads to the balance of the accounts being duplicated in the reports.

If you are experiencing this issue, review the chart of accounts and issue a new code for the -00 account. For example, 500-00 may be recoded to 500-10.

  1. Open Client Accounting for the affected client and on the Workpapers (Trial Balance) tab click Manage Accounts.
  2. Edit the account code of 500-00 to be 500, then click Submit.
