Change your invoice templates

Documents and templates are generally based on styles. There are two common styles in your invoice template, but you may have more styles if you’ve changed the font size and formatting.

When you open the template, Line Text and Line Amount fields are in a table. They must stay in a table and stay linked to the style All. Part or all of the remaining template may be using the style Normal or other styles, so you may also need to update these.

  1. Back up your templates before making changes.

  2. Open the template:

    1. Open Windows File Explorer and navigate to the location of the template as noted in To locate your existing template.

    2. Right-click on the template and select Open. The message "SECURITY WARNING Macros have been disabled" appears at the top of the document.
Make sure you've chosen to Open the template using the right-click menu. Double-clicking on the template will create a new document based off the template, rather than allow you to edit the template directly.

    3. In the Security Warning dialog, click Enable this content. If you haven't received this message, check your Macro Settings.

  1. Select the table (you usually need to select one line above and below the table) and amend the All style associated with the table.

  2. Access the Style Inspector, select All, click the drop-down to the right of the field and choose Modify.

  3. Change the font and font size and click Ok.

  4. Save your template.

  5. Create a test bill and check that the template displays with the latest font.

  6. If the bill doesn’t show your changes, check if your Master Paragraph text uses the correct font.
