These instructions require technical expertise. If you're not sure, ask your IT professional or MYOB.
If you use MYOB Accountants Office (AO) and Accountants Enterprise (AE) and changing your domain name, you'll need to make the following changes to your MYOB software to ensure it functions correctly.
1. To add the domain admin to the MYOB shared drive
After you've changed the domain name, you'll need to add the domain admin login details to the MYOB shared drive.
Select the folder icon on the Windows taskbar to open the File Explorer.
Right-click the MYOB shared drive and select Properties.
Go to the Sharing tab and click Advanced Sharing.
Select Sharethis folder and then click Permissions.
Click Add and enter the domain admin username and click OK.
In the Permissions window,select the domain administrator under Group or user names
Select Allow in the Full control option.
Click OK.
Click OK in Advanced sharing window and click Advanced.
In the Properties window, go to the Security tab.
In the Permissions window,select the domain administrator under Group or user names
Select Allow in the Full control option.
2. To find the login name and add it to SQL Management studio
Find the login name
Press and hold the Windows button and press R on your keyboard.
Type cmd and click OK.
In the Command Prompt window, type whoami and press Enter.
Make a note of the login information. For example, itdomain/admin.
Add the login name to SQL management studio
Log in to SQL Management studio using the sa username and password.
Click + to expand Security.
Right-click Logins and select New Login.
Enter the login name and make sure Windows authentication is selected.
Click Server roles.
Select sysadmin and click OK.
3. Re-map the MYOB drive
You'll need to remap the MYOB drive on all workstations where MYOB AE/AO is installed.
Select the folder icon on the Windows taskbar to open the File Explorer.
Click This PC on the left sidebar.
Make a note of the MYOB server and share name.
Right-click the MYOB share drive and select Disconnect.
Go to the Computer menu on the top bar and click the drop-down Map network drive and then select Map network drive.
Map the MYOB share drive using the same drive letter as you previously used.
4. Check MYOB services
Press and hold the Windows button and press R on your keyboard.
Type services.msc and click OK. The Services window appears.
Check the MYOB services are on Local System. Make sure the service is Running.
If the service is not on Local System, follow the steps below to add the domain name.
Right-click the service and select Properties.
Go to the Log On tab and add the new domain details.
Click OK.
Right-click the service and select Restart. Make sure the service is running.
New Zealand only
You'll need to check the MYOB Tax Manager service is Running on Local system.
5. Check tax settings in MYOB AE/AO
Log in to MYOB AE/AO as an administrator
Select Maintanence> Tax > Settings.
On the left side panel under Tasks, click Connect to tax database.
If you see the Integration with Tax is complete message, your tax settings is updated correctly. If you don't see the message, or get an error, contact Support.
6. Check the scheduled backups
Make sure you test the MYOB Schedule Backup from AE/AO software. See Schedule backups.
