Checking if Background Post Processes is running

This support note applies to:

  • AE Tax (AU)
Article ID: 36426

MYOB Accountants Enterprise users may be requested by MYOB Support or another Knowledge Base article to check if the Background Post Processes window is active or running.

The Background Post Processes window needs to be open and minimised on the server that contains your data.

The Background Post Processes window indicates if any changes that are being made are actively being processed in the relevant databases. This ensures that changes made in specific databases communicate with all other relevant databases. For example, a change in the Client Name entered into PM will need to flow through to the Tax Return front cover.

To ensure the database's Background Post Processes window is active

On Windows server where the AE Tax SQL\MSDE database is located, go to:

  • Start > All Programs > Startup > BackgroundAutoRun or

  • Start > All Programs > Solution 6 > Run CDSVizpost.

The [database name] post process window appears and is running.
