Checking the version of Document Manager on the server and workstation

This support note applies to:

  • AO Document Manager (AU)
  • AO Document Manager (NZ)
  • AE Document Manager (NZ)
  • AE Document Manager (AU)

In MYOB Document Manager you may need to identify what version is installed on the server and workstation.

This Knowledge Base article explains how to identify the version.

MYOB recommends to avoid using the Help > About option to identify the version, but to use the detailed instructions below.

To check the version of Document Manager installed refer to the following:

  • Server version
  • Workstation version

Server version

To check the server version for MYOB Document Manager you need to check the properties of the workstation installation file.

Select from one of the following:

AE non combined install
  1. Navigate to: \\<ServerName>\MYOBDM\, where <ServerName> is the name of your Server.
  2. Double-click the Setup folder. The contents of the folder displays.
  3. Highlight the DocMgrWkstn.exe file and Right click and select Properties. The Properties screen appears.
  4. Click on the Details tab. The Details screen appears.
  5. Note down the file version number. This should be consistent with the AE version.  If it is not consistent, Document Manager has not been installed and needs to be done.
    Legend   
    AE 5.4.28.78 goes with DM 5.4.28.78
    AE 5.4.29.123 goes with DM 5.4.29.123
    AE 5.4.31.132 goes with DM 5.4.31.132
  6. Check the AE version via Help > About.
AE/AO combined install
  1. Navigate to: \\<ServerName>\MYOBAE\AESQL\WorkstationInstall or \\<ServerName>\MYOBAO\AOSQL\WorkstationInstall, where <ServerName> is the name of your Server.
  2. Highlight the Setup.exe file and Right click and select Properties. The Properties screen appears.
  3. Click on the Details tab. The Details screen appears.
  4. Note down the file version number on the screen, for example 2018.2
    Legend 
    5.4.28.78 = 2018.0
    5.4.29.123 = 2018.1
    5.4.31.78 = 2018.2

 

Workstation version

Select from one of the following:

AE non combined install
  1. From the Desktop, press the Windows Key and X select Control Panel. The Control Panel window opens.
  2. Double-click Programs and Features. The Programs and Features window appears.
  3. Locate MYOB Document Manager Workstation and highlight. The MYOB Document Manager Workstation is highlighted.
  4. Check the version number in the version column or the box below. If you unable to find the version number on the screen, double-click and the uninstall screen appears with the version number. Cancel out after noting the version.
    This should agree to the server workstation file version.
AE & AO combined install
  1. From the Desktop, press the Windows Key and X select Control Panel. The Control Panel window opens.
  2. Double-click Programs and Features. The Programs and Features window appears.
  3. Locate MYOB AE Workstation or MYOB AO Workstation and highlight. The MYOB AE/AO Workstation is highlighted.
  4. Check the version number in the version column or the box below. If you unable to find the version number on the screen, double-click and the uninstall screen appears with the version number. Cancel out after noting the version.
    Legend 
    5.4.28.78 = 6.0.15
    5.4.29.123 =6.0.16
    5.4.31.78 = 6.0.18

This should agree to the server workstation install file.

If this agrees but you receive the error message The Document Manager workstation version does not match the server version, please contact Support.
