De-identifying clients after they've left the practice

You may be providing a number of services to your client such as tax, accounting, etc. You'll need to check all the modules within AE/AO to de-identify the client.

Tax

Remove any details that may identify the clients such as

  • delete TFN, ABN, and Date of birth. Go to the Main tab to edit/delete the details. See the Main tab.
  • change the client's name. See Editing names and client codes. Also delete the relevant address, emails, and telephone numbers.
  • For tax returns, you can either delete them or delete only their personal details in the tax return. If the status of the return is lodged, edit the status of the return so you can delete all their personal details like TFN, Date of birth, etc. See Deleting a return.

Practice Manager

Remove any personal details of the client that you don't need as part of your financial records. See Editing names and client codes.

Document Manager

Remove any documents that may identify the client. See Deleting documents

Client Accounting

Remove any personal details of the client by deleting their ledger.
