Deleting a tax return in Accountants Enterprise

In MYOB Accountants Enterprise the circumstance may arise where you need to delete a tax return. If you need to delete a tax return the following instructions will step you through this process.

MYOB strongly recommends that before you proceed with deleting any tax returns that you first ensure that you have a printed copy of the tax return.

Please refer to the appropriate procedure:

To use Contacts or Client Compliance to delete a return

If you use Contacts, go to Start > Programs > MYOB Accountants Enterprise > Contacts. The Contacts window appears.
If you use Client Compliance, click on Client Compliance. The Contacts window appears.
Highlight the contact for whom you want to delete the return, and press ENTER. The details of the contact appear.
Click the Matters tab. The contact of the Matters tab appear.
Highlight the tax matter and then click Open. The Documents tab displaying the tax forms for the matter appears.
Highlight the tax return that you want to delete and then click Delete. The Delete Tax Data window appears displaying a message.
Once you have read the message, click Yes to delete the return. The return is deleted.

To use System Release to delete a return

Open and log into System Release. The Ledgers window appears.
Highlight the required tax ledger and press ENTER. The Select return window appears.
Right-click the return and select Delete. The message Delete return <return code> appears, where <return code> is the code of the return.
Click Yes. The return is deleted.

To use AE with Practice Manager to delete a return

In Practice Manager, open the client you want to delete a tax return for. The Client tab opens.
Click the Tax Returns tab. The tax returns for that client displays.
Highlight the return and, on the TASKS bar, in the Tax Return section select Delete Return. The DELETE RETURN window opens asking you to confirm that you want to delete this tax return.
Click Yes. The tax return is deleted.
If the return is not disappearing from the Tax Returns tab, on the TASKS bar click the Refresh
