Determining the name of my Tax database

This support note applies to:

  • AO Tax (AU)

  • AE Tax Series 6 & 8 (AU)

  • AE Tax (AU)

 In MYOB Accountants Enterprise (AE) or Accountants Office (AO), you may need to identify the name of your Tax database in order to complete a procedure in another Knowledge Base article, or in response to an MYOB Support analyst's request. 

This article will assist you in determining the name of your Tax database based on the platform you use to access MYOB Tax.

Please refer to the section that is relevant to the way you access MYOB Tax.

 

AE via System Release

These instructions are only to be used if you access AE Tax via System Release. 

Perform the following instructions from within System Release.

  1. In the MYOB System Services window click on the Folders option located in the left panel in the Administration section.

  2. Highlight the line referencing Path S6:\\<server name>\MYOBAE\AETAX1.

  3. Locate the Reference column.
    Example:  AETAX1. 

AE via Practice Manager

These instructions are only to be used if you access AE Tax via Practice Manager. 

Perform the following instructions from within AE Practice Manager.

  1. Follow the menu path: Maintenance > Tax > Settings.

  2. Locate the Database Name line in the Tax database section.
    Example:  AETAX1

AE via Contacts

These instructions are only to be used if you access AE Tax via Contacts. 

Perform the following instructions from within Contacts.

  1. Follow the menu path: Help > About MYOB Contacts.

  2. Click Application details.

  3. Note the AE Tax Database path information.
    Example:  \\<server name>\MYOBAE\AETAX1.

  4. The last part of the path noted at Step 3 is the name of your AE Tax database. 
    Example:  AETAX1.

AE via Client Compliance

These instructions are only to be used if you access AE Tax via Client Compliance. 

Perform the following instructions from within the Client Compliance window.

  1. Follow the menu path: Help > About MYOB Historical Client Compliance.

  2. Click Application details.

  3. Note the AE Tax Database path information.
    Example:  \\<server name>\MYOBAE\AETAX1.

  4. The last part of the path noted at Step 3 is the name of your AE Tax database. 
    Example:  AETAX1.

AO via Practice Manager

These instructions are only to be used if you access AO Tax via Practice Manager. 

Perform the following instructions from within AO Practice Manager.

  1. Follow the menu path: Maintenance > Maintenance Maps.

  2. Click Tax from the Tasks panel.

  3. Click Settings.

  4. Locate the Database Name line in the Tax database section.
    Example:  AOTAX1
