Editing client codes when Compliance Integration is enabled

This support note applies to:

  • AE Practice Manager (AU)
Article ID: 23896

In MYOB Accountants Enterprise (AE) Practice Manager, if your database is integrated to the compliance modules of Tax, Accounts, FBT or Corporate Compliance you may find that you cannot edit client codes.

By default, the Client Code field in the Amend Client Name window in Practice Manager is disabled. The field is disabled as changing the client code results in losing the link to any work files in Compliance Management, for example, tax returns and MYOB AE Accounts ledger etc.

If you need to edit a client code, and there are no work files within Compliance Management, please contact MYOB Support and quote KB 23896.

MYOB INTERNAL STAFF ONLY

In the Configuration table, CDSLink should be set to 1. This prevents the editing of client codes. If you change this 0, the client code field is editable in the Amend Client Name screen. You should only change this setting if the client has NO compliance data. For example, no tax return, accounts ledger etc. If the code is changed, the link to these compliance documents is lost. Check the client compliance screen prior to editing a client code.

This is a limitation with PMS database.
