Editing Tax integration to launch the current year Tax ledger

  • AE Practice Manager (AU)
  • AE Tax (AU)

If you traditionally open Tax through System Release and wish to launch an AE Tax 2018 return directly from within the Client tab in MYOB Accountants Enterprise Practice Manager (AE PM), you will need to edit the Configuration key called Sol6Tax Ledger

This process is to be performed only after AE Tax 2018 has been installed.

You will need to close and re-open AE PM for the change to take effect.
To edit the configuration table in AE Practice Manager (AE PM)

Perform the following instructions from within AE PM:

  1. Follow the menu path: Maintenance > Maintenance Map > User Defined > Configuration. The Maintenance Configuration page appears.
  2. Select the Sol6Tax Ledger in the Key Name field. The cursor appears in the Key Value field.
  3. Change the existing value to: SR EPSTART X:\SOL63\TAX/Tax2018 -cCLIENTCODE and press Tab. The cursor appears in the Comment field.
    This is where:
    X:\SOL63 is the Tax installation directory;
    TAX is the Ledger code for Tax; and
    Tax2018 is your current Tax year.
    SQL Tax Users Only: If you are using SQL Tax, substitute the above command with:


    This is where:
    ServerName is the server name where your SQL database resides;
    TAX is the Ledger code for Tax; and
    Tax2018 is your current Tax year.
  4. Click OK.


In Viztopia 4.0 and below, the Configuration settings can be found in Back Office under the menu path Maintenance > System > Miscellaneous, then click the Advanced button.
