EI: SAPTO validation warning incorrectly displays when validating and completing an Individual Tax Return
This support note applies to:
- AO Tax (AU)
- AE Tax Series 6 & 8 (AU)
- AE Tax (AU)
In MYOB Accountants Enterprise (AE) and MYOB Accountants Office (AO) you may receive the following validation warnings when attempting to validate an Individual Tax Return in respect to the senior and penioner tax offset (SAPTO):
- Spouse is not eligible for SAPTO due to high rebate income. For a correct estimate the Code at T1 should be C (if you were living apart due to illness) or E (if you were living together)
- Spouse is not of eligble age for SAPTO. For a correct estimate the Code at T1 should be B or D.
These warnings will not prevent the return from being lodged electronically. It is important to select the correct offset code at T1 on behalf of the taxpayer however the validation warning may be conflicting.
For more information if the taxpayer is eligible for SAPTO refer to Senior Australians.
MYOB INTERNAL STAFF ONLY
The fatal lodgment blocker has been removed on 7 June 2017 however the warning messages will remain incorrect.
The tax agent can now select the correct SAPTO code however the warning message may be conflicting.
