Entering non-transaction data

This support note applies to:

  • AE Reporter (NZ)
  • AE Reporter (AU)
Article ID: 30680

In MYOB Accountants Enterprise Reporter (AE Reporter) you need to enter certain information that is relevant to the reports that is not retrieved from the general ledger. You need to enter this information in Non-Transaction Data.

When you are entering Non-Transaction Data into a MAS ledger for the first time, you also need to enter prior year values to establish comparatives.
To enter Non-Transaction Data
  1. Open the AE MAS or AE Accounts ledger for your client and follow the menu path Reports > Reporter > Generate Reports. The Compliance Reports screen appears, which displays all available reports for the entity type.
  2. Click the Non-transaction Data button.

The Non-transaction data screen appears with the #EntityDetails.ClientDetails table open in the right-hand pane.

The fields for data entry are contained within tables and the tables are contained within folders.
  3. Click the
    Plus
button for the relevant folder/s. The sub folders and tables contained within the folder appear.
  4. Click on the relevant table and enter the required data.

If a table is not a Multi Record table you can click in any field and enter the required data. However, if the table is a Multi Record table you will need to click the New Record button then enter data for current record, click Apply to save the record then click the New Record button for the next record. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for all relevant non-transaction data which you require.

  5. Click Apply to save your changes.

For further information regarding entering Client Details and what each field means, refer to Entering Non-Transaction Data for client details

To enter Non-Transaction data for a prior year

When the Non-Transaction Data window opens, the #EntityDetails.ClientDetails table is opened in the right-hand pane.  At the top of the left-hand pane the field Non-transaction items for displays a year.

To change the year for which you are performing data entry, click the drop down arrow in this field and select the appropriate year.

Be sure to return the year setting to the current year prior to exiting the Non-transaction data so as to reduce the possibility of others entering information into an incorrect year. When entering non-transactional data for other years in Multi Record database tables, you need to enter the data of the same description in the same row of current and previous year as the row number is mapped to the same description.
