When in or accessing MYOB Accountants Office Classic the following error "1104/Error reading file" or "1105/Error writing to file" may occur.
These errors are generated by Microsoft Windows and can relate to network issues like a network connection failure which can occur in Remote Desktop applications. Alternatively this error can also be related to files with a read-only attribute.
To reindex Accountants Office
Restart the workstation as this may relate to a file sharing issue or error.
Delete the 3 CADATA.* files and reindex all AO Classic modules. Refer to Re-indexing AO Classic
Perform a reboot of the data server.
If the issue keeps reoccurring after the workstations are left idling for more then 15 mins for example. It can be caused by Windows disconnecting the network drive to save resources. You can extend this timeout period by running through the following Microsoft KB. Microsoft KB: Mapped Drive Connection to Network Share May Be Lost.
If the issue keeps reoccurring post this there may be an underlining network issue where the RDS (Remote Desktop Server) in question is temporarily losing access to the database location over the network. A workaround may be for you to move your AO database locally to your RDS which bypasses the reliance on your network.
