In MYOB Accountants Enterprise (AE), when opening Datasafe the following error message may appear "Environment Error 713: Class not registered".

On opening Datasafe the system is looking for the correct version of the file MSSTDFMT.DLL. If the file that is located on your system is not correct, it will not allow Datasafe to open.

To fix this error you need to install the MSSTDFMT.DLL file on your workstation.

A copy of your MSSTDFMT.DLL should be installed locally. This location can vary depending on your operating system. The file may appear in the following locations:

  • C:\Windows\
  • C:\Windows\System\
  • C:\Windows\System32\ or
  • C:\Windows\SysWOW64\
Another copy will be found in the Setup directory for MYOB.

To fix this error, complete these 4 tasks:
