This support note applies to:
- AO Classic Tax (AU)
- AO Classic Practice Management (AU)
- AO Classic General Ledger (AU)
- AO Classic (NZ)
When opening MYOB Accountants Office (AO) Classic you may experience the error "A database update or reindex is in progress. Please try again later, or speak to your system administrator."
Please check with your System Administrator whether a database update or reindex has been commenced on another workstation. If so, please wait for this to complete, and the Accountants Office login screen has appeared. Then other workstations are able to login as normal.
If you believe an Accountants Office database update or reindex is not in progress on any other workstation, contact us for further assistance.
MYOB INTERNAL STAFF ONLY
Check the following:
- On the file server, look at Open Files, and that no users are accessing any files or folders (or holding files open) in the Accountants Office \Data folder.
- Run MYOB Accountants Office Data Repair to delete CAData.* files, or delete these manually - this will confirm that indeed no one else is running a database update or reindex. If this is is successful, then also delete LIC.DBF, as this may be 'locking' the rebuild process. Then start Accountants Office again - LIC.DBF will be recreated, and Accountants Office should now reindex as normal.
