Error: "ActiveX component can"t create object" when adding an Asset

In MYOB Accountants Enterprise Assets (AE Assets) you may experience the following error "ActiveX component can't create object" when attempting to add an asset to an asset control group.

This error is a due to the MSXML4.dll file is either missing or not registered.

To resolve this error you need to register this file.

How to register the msxml4.dll file

  1. Press and hold the Windows button and press R on your keyboard. The Run window appears.

  2. Type regsvr32  <path and file name> and click OK. For example of regsvr32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\msxml4.dll. A message appears that the file is successfully registered.

  3. Click OK. The file is registered.
