Error: "Cannot connect to the online server. The online server is not responding" when accessing Assets

This support note applies to:

  • AO Assets Live (AU)
  • AE Assets Live (AU)

In MYOB Client Accounting you may experience the error "Cannot connect to the online server. The online server is not responding" when accessing Assets.

This occurs when you do not have the Practice Administrator and/or employee login details in AE/AO. 

To be able to access Assets, enter your Practice my.MYOB settings and employee login details in MYOB AE/MYOB AO. Please *note* the email used in your practice details must have a valid and matching employee login otherwise you will also get this error.

If the error continues, update the permissions and sharing on the \\<servername>\Central\ folder to allow the User Group Everyone to have Full Control. If you require assistance with applying these rights please consult your IT professional.
