Error: "Check could not be run as the database is in use"

This support note applies to:

In MYOB Datasafe when attempting to run a Check Now on a machine running Windows 8 or Server 2012, the routine fails and displays the error "Check could not be run as the database is in use. Ask all users to exit all MYOB Desktop applications, then run Check again." 

To fix this issue
  1. Close Datasafe. The Datasafe module is closed.
  2. From the Start menu, right click on the Datasafe icon. Menu options appear.
  3. Select to Run as Administrator. Datasafe opens with Administrator permissions.  
    The error longer appears when running a Check Now.
