Error: "Do you want to register Practice Manager and Job Manager?" or "Your temporary license for Practice Manager has expired" when opening AE/AO

This support note applies to:

  • AO Tax (AU)
  • AO Practice Manager (AU)
  • AE Practice Manager (AU)

When opening MYOB Accountants Office (AO) Tax you may see the error "Do you want to register Practice Manager and Job Manager?" or "Your temporary license for Practice Manager has expired".

This error occurs if you have registered for a temporary license with Practice Manager selected and now the 7-day temporary license period has expired.

If the client is not registered for Practice Manager but has selected it, you will need to update the lic.ini file to remove the section regarding temporary licensed products.

To update the lic.ini file

  1. Navigate to \MYOBAO\AOSQL\Registration\Sys\Bin\.
  2. Take a copy of the lic.ini file then open the lic.ini file.
  3. Remove the contents of the following section. Delete the section heading and all the lines of text in the section, up to the end of the file or up to but not including the next section heading:
    [Product Expiry Dates]
