When opening a client's page in MYOB, you may receive the error "Document folder for this client does not exist".  The system opens to the clients documents tab and a red cross may appear on the screen.  Other tabs in the client's page also display the same red cross.

To be able to access the client's details, update the client's document paths.

To resolve the issue, perform the follow steps while logged into MYOB as an Administrator.

To update the document paths
  1. Open MYOB and login with an Administrator account. The Find Clients screen appears.
  2. Open a client's page that has the red cross. A client's page opens.
  3. Click the Documents tab, then click Change documents folder in the Tasks panel. The Change documents folder window appears.
  4. Note the current incorrect Client documents folder location. The incorrect Clients documents folder is noted.
  5. From the Maintenance menu, select Maintenance Map. The Maintenance Map tab appears.
  6. Click User Defined, then click Update Multiple External Links. The Update Multiple External Links screen appears.
  7. Type the current incorrect document path into the Replace: field, without the client's document folder on the end. The incorrect document path is entered.

If for example the document path for the client is N:\MYOBAO\DATA\Documents\BOB01, remove the \BOB01 so the path reads N:\MYOBAO\Data\Documents
  8. Type the correct document path into the With: field. The correct document path is entered.
  9. Select the Client document folders links option. The Client document folders links option is selected.
  10. Click OK. The system updates the document paths.

In addition to this you will now need to check the Document Startup Path.
  11. From the Maintenance menu, select Maintenance Map. The Maintenance Map tab appears.
  12. Click Documents, then click Mailing Settings. The Mailing Settings screen appears.
  13. Update the Document Startup Path to the same path entered at step 8 above. The Document Startup Path is updated.
