Error: "Failed to convert parameter value from a String to a DateTime"

In MYOB Document Manager (DM) you may receive the following error "Failed to convert parameter value from a String to a DateTime" when accessing documents.

This error indicates that the regional settings on the computer is not set to English (Australia).

To check the regional settings

Perform the following instructions from the Windows desktop:

  1. Click the Start button and select Control Panel. The Control Panel window opens.

    Check that your View by option in the Control Panel is set to Large icons.  This will help with the remaining instructions.  If it is not set to Large icons, click on the drop down arrow a the View by field and select Large icons.
  2. Click the Region and Language link. The Region and Language window appears.
  3. Click the drop down arrow at the Format field and select English (Australia). The selected region appears.
  4. Click Apply. The Region and Language window saves your changes.
  5. Click OK. The Control Panel window appears.
  6. Close the Control Panel window. The desktop appears.

    After updating the region settings exit MYOB and log back in for the changes to take effect.
