Error: "Incompatible version of Microsoft Office detected..."
This support note applies to:
- Timecost (AU)
- Profiles (AU)
- AE Tax Series 6 & 8 (AU)
When installing MYOB Accountants Enterprise (AE) Tax 8.25 or 6.41 the following error may appear "Incompatible version of Microsoft Office detected. Microsoft Office 64 bit is not compatible with Integrated Release. Uninstall Office and reinstall as a 32 bit application before proceeding with this install.".
This error occurs because you currently have Microsoft Office 64 bit installed and AE Tax is compatible with Microsoft Office (MS Office) 32 bit.
- Open Microsoft Word 2013.
- Select Blank Document.
- Click File.
- Select Account from the selection pane on the left.
- Click the About Word icon.
You will now see the version of Microsoft Word (forming part of the Microsoft Office 2013 suite) and it will display if it is 64 bit or 32 bit.
If you are running MS Office 64 bit you will need to uninstall this version of MS Office and install MS Office 32 bit. Please refer to your IT Consultant for further assistance in this process.
Once MS Office 32 bit has been installed you will then need to re-run the AE Tax 8.25 or 6.41 installation.
