Error: "Oops, something's not quite right. We can't get you to where you need to be. Please try again shortly" when publishing a document

When attempting to publish a document to the MYOB Portal you may experience the error "Oops, something's not quite right. We can't get you to where you need to be. Please try again shortly".

This error occurs when the Description field in the Portal publishing window contains text that has been copied and pasted from the Word document. The pasted information includes hidden commands that can not be interpreted by the Portal software.

To resolve this error you need to copy and paste the text into a Wordpad document first. Then, from the Wordpad document, copy and paste the text again to the Description field as required. This will remove any of the hidden commands that the Portal software cannot read.

To avoid this error in the future, it is recommended to use a Wordpad document as the master document for portal comment templates.

Wordpad is installed as part of the Windows operating system.
