In MYOB Accountants Enterprise Accounts (AE Accounts) you may experience the error "post: branch 0" when trying to generate a report from within Accounts.

This error can occur due to Branch 0 being selected for the Branch and Divisions Postings in the ledger.

To resolve this error you need to update any 0 values in the Post Totals to Branch column of Branch and Divisions Postings to be 1.

To update the Branch and Divisions Postings
  1. Open the relevant Accounts ledger.

  2. Follow the menu path: File > Properties > Branch and Division Postings.

  3. Using the TAB key focus on any 0 value in the Post Totals To Branch column and amend to 1..

  4. Press F4. The values are saved and the Branch and Division Postings window closes.

You are now able to post successfully to this ledger.

MYOB Internal Notes:

If this process does not rectify the issue, you need to:
1. Create a new Accounts ledger of the same entity type.
Then using dbed:
2. Export the post table of the new dummy ledger you created:
s post > c:\post.txt
3. Delete the post table of the problematic ledger.
4. Update the post table in the problematic ledger with the file exported from the new dummy ledger you created:
u post < c:\post.txt
