Error: "S6db.dll is an old version and requires 7.2.91.0"

This support note applies to:

In MYOB when accessing System Release after upgrading to System Release version 8.0, you may experience the error message "s6db.dll is an old version and require 7.2.91.0."
To resolve this error you need to download the attached version of the file s6db.dll located at the end of this article and save the file in the SOL64 folder.

Updating s6db.dll file
  1. Follow the menu path: Start > Programs > Windows Explorer. The Windows Explorer window opens.

  2. Navigate to X:\SOL64; where X:\SOL64 is the Installed Location. A list of files within the X:\SOL64 folder appear.

  3. Right click on each of the files s6db.dll and select Rename adding the extension .old to each of the existing file names. The file s6db.dll is renamed s6db.dll.old.

  4. Select the File Attachments located at then end of this article, double-click the file s6db.zip. A File Download window is displayed.

  5. Click Save. A Save As window is displayed.

  6. Navigate to your desktop and click Save. The file is saved to your Desktop.

  7. Right-click on the s6db.zip file, select Open. The file s6db.dll will appear in the Windows Explorer pane.

  8. Right-click on the s6db.dll file and select Copy. The folder is copied to the clipboard.

  9. In the Windows Explorer pane navigate to the location X:\SOL64;  where X:\SOL64 is the Installed Location and right-click and select Paste. The file updated version of s6db.dll is saved in the location X:\SOL64.
