When accessing MYOB Accountants Enterprise (AE) Tax you may experience the error "SR DAL server...is offline/incorrect name". This error occurs when the System Release DAL is not running or it can be due to a firewall on the server blocking access to ports, 6606, and software, SRDAL.exe. Access to both these items are required by AE Tax.

Ensure the SR DAL is running.  If it is running, if you are using Windows Firewall, and it is enabled, then you may resolve this error by adding an exception for port 6606.

To Start SR DAL

Perform these steps on the server or the machine hosting SQL.

  1. At the Windows Desktop, follow the menu path: Start > Control Panel > System Release DAL. The System Release Dal window appears.
  2. Click the Start button. The service is started

When adding an excepted program, browse to and select the SRDAL.exe file. This is located as follows:

32 bit - C:\Program Files\MYOB\SRDAL\SRDAL.exe.
64 bit - C:\Program Files (x86)\MYOB\SRDAL\SRDAL.exe.

If you are using a different firewall program consult your user manual on how to exempt a program or open a port.
