Error: "The ABN for the Practice or Agent assigned to the return could not be verified"
This support note applies to:
- AO Tax (AU)
- AE Tax Series 6 & 8 (AU)
- AE Tax (AU)
In MYOB Tax using PLS (CloudAuth) to lodge you may experience the error "The ABN for the Practice or Agent assigned to the return could not be verified" when attempting to lodge.
This error indicates that a prior return is associated with a different Agent that may exist in 2016 with incorrect or incomplete details.
To resolve this error:
- Open the return in question and check its return properties and take note of the Staff tab > Agent's code, and
- Open 2016 tax and navigate to Maintenance > Agents and ensure that you either remove this old Agent code (if possible) or that you fill them out with appropriate details.
