Error: "The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect"

In MYOB Corporate Compliance you may experience the error "The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect" when accessing Corporate Compliance on a workstation.
The full error may vary depending if you have Corporate Compliance Integrated or Non-Integrated.

The above error occurs due to an incomplete CorporateCompliance.exe.config file and is likely caused by inadequate permissions of the installer.
To resolve this error you need to copy the CorporateCompliance.exe.config file from a working machine, and then replacing the machine experiencing the error.If you continue to experience the error, you will need to adjust the security of the parent folder "Corporate Compliance" to ensure the user permissions show full control and redo the Corporate Compliance client installation.
