Error: "The selected database is not on this machine" during the Accountants Office installation

When running the MYOB Accountants Office (AO) installation you may encounter the error “The selected database or file path location is not on this machine”.

This error occurs if you are not installing from the server, as the selected database or file path location is not on this machine.

To fix the error

Cancel the installation.
Identify where the database or file path is located:
1. Open MYOB AO and from the Help menu, select About MYOB Accountants Office. The About MYOB Accountants Office window appears.
2. Click Application Details. The Application Details window appears.
3. Note the Data folder. This is where your database is located.
4. Click Close. The information windows are closed.
Install Accountants Office on the machine where the database or file path is located.
