Error: "The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding"

In MYOB Practice Manager (PM) you may experience the error "Error 'Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding" when trying to log into PM.

To resolve this error, the server must be set to allow Remote Connections.
Please check your firewall is configured correctly as well as per Error: "A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server".
