In MYOB Practice Manager (PM) may receive the error "Timesheet Constructor Error: String is not recognised as a valid DateTime" when entering timesheets.

To resolve this error you need to ensure the Short date field is displayed as dd/MM/yyyy within the Control Panel.

To check the date format
  1. Follow the menu path: Press and hold the Windows button and press X on your keyboard menu, and select the Control Panel. Alternatively, search for Control Panel.
  2. Select the Formats tab and ensure the Format field is set to: English (Australia) or English (New Zealand).
  3. Select the Location tab and ensure the Home Location is set to: Australia or New Zealand.
  4. Select the Formats tab and Additional Settings. The Customize Format window appears.
  5. Select the Date tab and ensure the Short date format is dd/mm/yyyy under the Date formats section. Use the drop-down box to select the correct date format or edit/add the correct date format of dd/mm/yyyy.

When the above changes have been made and the issue still re-occurs, you may need to change the region and language back to UnitedStates ( the default setting) and then reboot the machine. Once rebooted, change the settings back to the correct region and language and reboot the machine and then check again if the error persists. You may need to involve your IT support to resolve this issue.

  6. Go to Region > Administrative > Language for non-Unicode programs. Select Change system locale and confirm current system locale to English (Australia) or English (New Zealand).

  7. Click OK. The Region window appears.
  8. Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
