Error: "Unable to initialise CSP. Please ensure all available OS service packs has been applied and try again"

In MYOB Accountants Enterprise Assets (AE Assets) version 2.4, you may receive the following error "Unable to initialise CSP. Please ensure all available OS service packs has been applied and try again" when opening an Assets ledger.

To resolve the error you need to remove/refresh some files on the affected workstation.

To remove/refresh the required files
  1. Open Windows Explorer on the affected workstation and navigate to: C:\users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA. The files and folders contained in this location appear.

    Replace <username> with the user experiencing the error in this path. 

  2. Highlight all the files, right click and select Copy. The files are copied to the clipboard.
  3. Access the desktop of the workstation, right click and select Paste. A copy of the files are pasted to the desktop.
  4. Navigate back to: C:\users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA highlight all the files, then right click and select Delete. The files are deleted.
  5. Open an AE Assets ledger. The required files are recreated in this location and the Assets ledgers now open.
