In MYOB Tax during extended periods of time when the application is left open but not used, you may receive the "Unexpected network error" or "Network Name Deleted" message.

This error indicates the workstation or terminal server is losing connection to System Release program files on the server.  The reason for this is that, by default, Windows will time an open connection out after 15 minutes of idle time.  This means that the mapped drive that is used to connect to the server is disconnected automatically until it is used again.

This is a machine based setting and can be changed on each workstation independently.

In order to change the setting, MYOB recommend to refer to Microsoft KB: Mapped Drive Connection to Network Share May Be Lost. If your practice has set up Group Policy, talk to your IT provider or network administrator about changing the drive mappings properties 'Action' setting to Update.

Other than this, it may be an issue whereby leased IP addresses are being released too early, or some other network related issue.  In any case, these errors are not software based and are environmental.  They may be hardware or software related issues on your network, and as such, you will need to contact your IT provider or network administrator for further assistance.
