Exporting reports when the Select Export File window does not appear

This support note applies to:

Article ID: 23400

In MYOB Accountants Enterprise (AE) Reporter, when you select to export reports, the Select Export File window appears to allow you to specify the destination for the generated file. You may experience the situation where the Select Export File window does not appear.

This can occur if you do not have a default location to save a Reporter export, set in the Windows Registry or you do not have rights to the specified location.

To export successfully, establish a valid path to a default location in the File Export Directory key in the Registry Editor.

To update the registry
  1. On the affected machine from the Windows Desktop, click Start and select Run. The Run command window opens.
  2. Type regedit and click OK. The Registry Editor window opens.
  3. Navigate to the folder HKEY_Current_User\Software\Solution6\Reporter\Settings. The names of the string values for the folder Settings appear in the right hand pane of the Registry Editor window.
  4. Right-click on the string value FileOpenExportDirectory and select Modify. The Edit String window opens.
  5. In the Value data field change the default directory to be the location of your Desktop, for example C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Desktop, and click OK. The Registry Editor window appears.

The maximum length of the path you enter here is 155 characters.
  6. Close the Registry Editor window. The Windows Desktop appears.

If you are using a Terminal Server, repeat these steps for each affected user
