Finding out who is logged into AE/AO

This support note applies to:

  • AE Practice Manager (NZ)
  • AE Practice Manager (AU)
  • AO Practice Manager (NZ)
  • AO Practice Manager (AU)
Article ID: 33598

From MYOB Practice Manager version 5.0 onwards, it's now possible to view all the business users currently logged into AE/AO by browsing to the file business_login.inf.

Check the following locations on the SQL server for the file although this location can vary from site to site:

ProductLocation
AE

C:\MYOB\MYOBAE\Registration or

 C:\MYOB\Registration\MYOBAE

AOC:\MYOBAO\AOSQL\Registration

Alternatively to locate the file for AE sites, access Start > All Programs > MYOB Accountants Enterprise > System Release Tools, right click on Registration and click Properties, and note down the Start In path. The business_login.inf file will be located in the registration folder listed within this path.

For AO sites, access Start > All Programs > MYOB Accountants > Registration, right click on Registration and click Properties, and note down the Start In path. The business_login.inf file will be located in the registration folder listed within this path.

The log file may still display employees who have not exited the application correctly or successfully, as well as new users who have logged in.

To remove these incorrectly displaying employees from the log file, rename the business_login.inf file to business_login.old

After this has been done, get any affected users to log back into AE Practice Manager, and log file will be recreated, displaying only users currently logged in.

An asterisk '*' will display against users who were previously logged into AE/AO but are no longer logged in.
