In Accountants Office (AO) Classic you may experience intermittent crashes after upgrading to Windows 10. This can cause the error "1104/Error reading file" to appear intermittently and occurs when attempting to use the software after it has been left idle for a period of time.

This is happening due to the fact that Windows 10 applies many group policies in the background after a user is logged on and also at scheduled times. If a Group Policy is set to Create a drive map, rather than Update, then it will delete then create - causing the behavior.

To prevent these crashes, you will need ensure your network group policies that are used to map network drives are setup to use the action: Update.

Having these set to Create or Replace will cause the network drives to be deleted and recreated when group policies are refreshed causing the error to occur.

Refer to the Microsoft website for information regarding Microsoft Windows Group Policies.
