When upgrading MYOB Accountants Enterprise to a new version, the installation prompts you to upgrade all of your databases. At the Choose Database screen, you can deselect databases and upgrade them manually at a later time.

To convert a database to the latest version, run databasesetup.exe from the bin folder. To find this folder, check your program directory. You can then manually run the database setup.

1. Check your program directory
  1. In Contacts, from the Help menu, select About MYOB Contacts. The About MYOB AE Contacts screen appears.
  2. Click Application details. The MYOB AE Contacts Application Details screen appears.
  3. Note the Installed Location, e.g. S:\MYOB and click OK. The About MYOB AE Contacts screen appears.

In the above example, the program directory is S:\MYOB\bin. You can now manually run the database setup as described in the next task.

2. Manually run a database setup

The instructions below use the example of the installation directory S:\MYOB\bin and the database location Q:\data\MYOB. Make sure you substitute these for your installation directory and database location.

  1. At the Windows Desktop, click Start and select Run. The Run window appears.
  2. Type S:\MYOB\bin\databasesetup.exe in the Open field and click OK, where S:\MYOB\bin is your program directory. The Choose Database screen appears.

If the database you wish to upgrade does not appear in the list of databases, click Browse for Other Databases and navigate to the relevant directory.
  3. Deselect any databases you do not wish to upgrade and click Next. The Database Setup Confirm screen appears.
  4. Click Next. The Database Setup screen appears.
  5. With the default option of Yes selected, click Next. The Database Upgrade screen appears. The database is converted to the latest version. Once complete, the Database conversion completed successfully! screen appears.
  6. Click OK. The Database Upgrade screen appears.
  7. Click Finish.
