In MYOB Document Manager (DM), you can move or copy a document to another client.
When copying a document, the document is retained in the original client and appears for the client you've copied to.
When moving a document, the document is removed from the original client and instead appears under the client you've elected to move the document to.
Lets see how this is done.
These instructions will step you through how to copy a document to another client. By following these steps, the document will still be retained in the original client.
- From within Document Manager, highlight the document then from the TASKS bar, click Make a Copy. The Profiling window appears.
Complete the document profiling steps and click Finish. The Profiling window closes and a copy of the document appears in the new client and the original copy remains under the previous client.
These instructions will step you through how to move a document from one client to another. By following these steps, the document is not retained in the original client, but instead, can be found under the new client.
The document must have a status of In Progress. If the status is Complete, create a new version of the document. When the steps below are followed, both the versions of the document will appear under the new client.
From within Document Manager, right-click on the document and select Properties.
Click the ellipses () button on the Contact field. The Find Contacts screen appears.
Search and select the new client, then click OK. The Document Properties window appears.
Click OK. The changes are saved and the Document Properties window closes.
Make sure you don't delete any of the versions after moving the document to the new client. This will delete both versions of the document.
