Outlook Emails saved as Checked Out

This support note applies to:

  • AO Document Manager (AU)
  • AO Document Manager (NZ)
  • AE Document Manager (NZ)
  • AE Document Manager (AU)

In MYOB Document Manager (DM), emails aren’t marked as Complete and are left Checked Out when:

  • you’ve saved them to Document Manager from Microsoft Outlook
  • you’re saving an email into Document Manager and Document Manager freezes
  • you’ve added emails using the Add Email feature.

To resolve this issue, you'll need to update your Internet E-mail Settings for the IMAP or Exchange account in Outlook.

If you require further assistance with the following task, we recommend contacting your IT provider to ensure any changes to your mail settings are right for you.

To update the Internet E-mail Settings
  1. From within Microsoft Outlook, click File. The File menu opens to the Info tab, displaying the Account Information.
  2. Click Account Settings then from the drop-down menu, choose Account Settings...
  3. Double-click on the affected email address. A new window will open:
    • For IMAP accounts, the Change Account window opens.
    • For Exchange accounts, the Exchange Account Settings window opens.
  4. Click the More Settings button.
  5. Click the Advanced tab
    • For IMAP accounts, deselect Do not save copies of sent items.
    • For Exchange accounts, select Use Cached Exchange Mode.
  6. Click Apply then OK to save your changes and close the window.
