Overriding a user preference with the practice default page setup

In MYOB Tax you can apply default page setups as a practice default when printing tax forms. You can also apply page setup defaults to any or all of your tax users. Default page setups at a user level, take precedence over practice level defaults, unless you choose to override the practice defaults with a user default.

Following is information regarding how to override a user preference page setup with the practice default page setup.

To view your practice default page setups, follow the menu path: Utilities > Practice default options > Return print setup.

You can override the practice default page setups for specific users or for all users. Click the link for the required option:

  1. Open any return for the year that you want to override the page setups, from the Maintenance menu, select User Preferences. The User Preferences window appears.
  2. Click the Print Options tab and then click Return print setup. The <User Name> Print Setup window appears, where: <User Name> is the name of the user logged on.
  3. Click the ellipses button [...] on the required form type, highlight the require print setup and click Select. The <User Name> Print Setup window appears, where: <User Name> is the name of the user logged on.

    Repeat step 3 for each of the sections that default page setups are required for.
    If you want to override all of a user's preference page setups with the practice default page setups, click the Copy practice default button on the <User Name> Print Setup window.
  4. Click OK. The User Preferences window appears.
  5. Click OK. The return appears and the practice default page setups are allocated to the required print setup items for the logged on user.
To override all users' preference page setups with the practice default page setups
  1. Open any return for the year that you want to allocate the practice default page setups, follow the menu path: Utilities > Practice default options > Return print setup. The Print Setup window appears.

    If the Enter Master Password window appears, type your password and press ENTER.
  2. Click Apply to all. The message "Warning: This will update all user "Return Print Setup" settings" appears.
  3. Click OK. The message "All users now updated to practice default" appears.
  4. Click OK. The Print Setup window appears.
  5. Click Cancel. The return appears and the practice default page setups are allocated to the required print setup items for all users.
