Preventing a closed client displaying in Tax homepages or reports

This support note applies to:

  • AO Tax (AU)
  • AE Practice Manager (AU)
  • AE Tax Series 6 & 8 (AU)
  • AE Tax (AU)

In MYOB Accountants Enterprise (AE) or Accountants Office (AO) after a client is closed the client may still display in the Tax homepages or reports.

This is caused by not having the relevant exclude option selected in the Return Properties of the tax return.

To exclude closed clients from Tax homepages and reports for the next tax year
Use this option if your client has left your practice or you are no longer completing returns for the client.  A tax return will not be created for this client next year. The client will still display in Tax homepages and reports in the current year but will not display next year.
  1. Open the tax return for the closed client and click the Properties icon on the toolbar. The Return Properties window opens.
  2. Click PAYG/Lodge tab. The payment and lodgment details appear.
  3. Select the Exclude from Rollover option in the Current Year section and click OK. The exclude option is selected.
To exclude closed clients from Tax Homepages and Reports for the current tax year
  1. Open the tax return for the closed client and click the Properties icon on the toolbar. The Return Properties window opens.

  2. Click on the PAYG/Lodge tab. The payment and lodgment details appear.
  3. Click the ellipses button on the Return required field and select either Not this year or No future return in the Current Year section. The required option is selected.

    This field has been provided to exclude the client from lodgment and statistical reporting and also excludes the client from Tax homepages and reports in the current year.
