Removing suspense account balances after performing a consolidation

This support note applies to:

  • AE MAS (AU)
Article ID: 27039

In MYOB Accountants Enterprise MAS (AE MAS) after performing a consolidation, balances may appear in the suspense account attributable to the profit value for years 4, 5 and 6.

With AE MAS only storing account values for these years rather than the transactions themselves, the AE MAS consolidation process is not able to correctly recognise the profit distribution entries for those years.

To rectify this situation perform a one sided journal entry in Year 3 for a debit to account 639, then a double sided journal entry in the Last Year and a double sided journal entry in the Current Year with both of these entries being a debit to account 639 and a credit to account 638.
