Running a silent installation of AE Assets
This support note applies to:
- AE Assets (AU)
- AE Assets (NZ)
When installing MYOB Accountants Enterprise (AE) Assets, you may need to run a silent or unassisted installation. This process is especially effective where there are numerous installations of AE Assets that are required.
Perform the instructions for your ledger depending on whether you use AE Accounts or AE MAS with Assets. This needs to be run on a workstation.
Locate the AE Assets installation file and take note of the file path. This is the location of where you have downloaded and saved the Assets installation file.
Download the assets_silent.inf file and save the file into the location identified in Step 1.
Right-click on the assets_silent.inf file then from the drop-down menu, click Open with and select Notepad. The file opens in notepad.
Edit the assets_silent.inf file so that it appears as follows:
[Silent]
InstallPath=c:\Program Files (x86)\MYOB\Assets
SystemServicesUsed=Y
Sol64Path=x:\MYOBAE\AESQL\TAX
Where InstallPath is the location where AE Assets is to be installed and x:\MYOBAE\AESQL\TAX is the location of your TAX folder (Sol64) folder.Once the assets_silent.inf file has been configured, click the File menu and choose Save, then close the file.
Press and hold the Windows key + R on your keyboard. The Run window appears.
In the Open field, browse to the location identified at Step 1 and then type MYOBAEAssets2_4_7_AU_Update.exe /s /m=assets_silent.inf. Then click OK. The silent installation begins.
For example, where C:\temp is where you've saved the file.
