Save with Contact not appearing in Microsoft Outlook

The Save with Contact option under the File menu may be missing in Microsoft Outlook.

If the Save with Contact menu doesn't appear in Outlook when you have an email open, or have an email selected in a folder other than Sent Items, then run a workstation setup and reboot the machine.

If the menu still doesn't appear, register the savewithcontact.dll file.

Let's step you through both of these tasks:

 

To run a workstation setup
  1. In Contacts, from the Help menu, select About MYOB Contacts. The About MYOB AE Contacts screen appears.
  2. Click Application details. The MYOB AE Contacts Application Details screen appears.
  3. Note the Installed Location, e.g. s:\MYOB\bin and click OK. The About MYOB AE Contacts screen appears.
  4. Click Close. The Contacts screen appears.
  5. At the windows desktop, click Start and select Run. The Run window appears.
  6. Type s:\MYOB \setup in the Open field where s:\MYOB \bin is your program directory.
  7. Double-click Setup.exe. The Welcome window appears.
  8. Click Next. The Start Copying window appears.
  9. Click Next. The Setup Complete window appears.
  10. Select the option No, I will restart my computer later, and click Finish. The Windows Explorer window appears.
  11. Open the xsupport folder, and double-click xsupport.exe. The InstallShield Wizard installs the xsupport components.
  12. Double-click jet40sp3_comp.exe.
  13. When the install has completed, reboot your workstation.
To register savewithcontact.dll

You must be logged in with full administrator rights for the file to register this file successfully.

  1. In Contacts, from the Help menu, select About MYOB Contacts. The About MYOB AE Contacts screen appears.
  2. Click Application details. The MYOB AE Contacts Application Details screen appears.
  3. Note the Installed Location, e.g. s:\MYOB\bin and click OK. The About MYOB AE Contacts screen appears.
  4. Click Close. The Contacts screen appears.
  5. At the windows desktop, click Start and select Run. The Run window appears.
  6. Type s:\MYOB \bin in the Open field and click OK. The files within this directory appear.
  7. Highlight savewithcontact.dll, and from the Edit menu, select Copy. The file is copied.
  8. Navigate to your C:\windows\system32 directory, then from the Edit menu, select Paste. The file is pasted to the C:\windows\system32 directory.
  9. At the Windows desktop, click Start and select Run. The Run window appears.
  10. Type regsvr32 SaveWithContact.dll and click OK.
  11. Reboot your workstation and check the File menu in Outlook.
In some instances you may need to run the workstation setup again after registering the SaveWithContact.dll.

MYOB INTERNAL STAFF ONLY

If the workstation installs or the registration of the dll are done at Admin (Global) level, they should be ok unless there are individual permissions/restrictions on a users profile.There they may have to attempt to change these and then re apply the setting changes.
