Setting a default for the categories when profiling a new document

In MYOB Document Manager, default values for categories in the profiling section when adding a document are found in Document Manager Setup.

The following instructions will step you through setting a default value for a filing cabinet extra field.

To setup a default value for a Filing Cabinet Extra Field

  1. From the main menu, go to Maintenance > Maintenance Map > Documents > Document Manager Setup. The Document Manager Setup tab opens.

  2. To view the filing cabinet list either:
    1. under the Welcome tab, click Filing Cabinets or
    2. scroll through the tabs to the right and click the Filing Cabinets tab.

  3. Highlight the required Filing Cabinet. The Main, Extra Fields and Security tabs for that Filing Cabinet display.

  4. Click the Extra Fields tab. The Categories for the selected Filing Cabinet display.

  5. In the Default Value column on the relevant row, click the ellipsis (...).

  6. From the Select values window, select the required value.

  7. Click OK to save.

  8. Click Finish to close the Document Manager Setup tab.

You have now set default values for the categories within the selected filing cabinet. Those values will be used when saving documents to Document Manager.
