Where you have migrated Practice Manager documents to Document Manager, you may want to remove the second Documents tab found in the Clients tab if this was configured at some stage.

To turn off the second Documents tab
  1. From the Windows desktop, right-click on the Start

    image of start button
    button and select Run.

Alternatively, you can press the Windows key + R on the keyboard to open this window.
  2. In the Open field type in the location of your server Central folder. This is usually one of the following locations:

    If you are using...

    go to...

    Accountants Enterprise (AE)\\SERVER\CENTRAL
    \\SERVER\S6SYSTEM\MYOBAE\AESQL\Central\Deploy
    \\SERVER\MYOBAE\AESQL\Central\Deploy
    Accountants Office (AO)\\SERVER\AONET\MYOBAO\AOSQL\Central\Deploy
    \\SERVER\MYOBAO\AOSQL\Central\Deploy

Where SERVER is the name of your server where MYOB Document Manager is installed.

  3. Locate the KMConfig.xml file, right click on it and select Open With.
  4. Select Notepad and click Ok. The KMConfig.xml file opens in Notepad.
  5. On the third line <ShowCentralDocuments>Yes</ShowCentralDocuments> change the value from "Yes" to "No", then save and close the file.

The KMConfig.xml file now displays <ShowCentralDocuments>No</ShowCentralDocuments> and the changes are saved.

  6. Close and re-open AE/AO and open a client to confirm you now see only one Document tab on the client.

This change also switches off the second mail merge option that was previously found under Documents in the Task Bar.
