Unable to edit client codes

This support note applies to:

  • AE Practice Manager (NZ)
  • AE Practice Manager (AU)
  • AE Tax (AU)

In MYOB Accountants Enterprise (AE), you may find that when you attempt to edit a client code that the field is greyed out and it can't be changed. 

This article is only applicable to if you are on Vizpost integration. To determine the type of integration you are using, refer to KB34187 - Information that flow through from AE Practice Manager to AE Tax

To resolve this, in AE go to Maintenance > User defined > Configuration and update the Key Name CDSLink line to show "0" in the Key Value column.

To change the CDSLink configuration

Perform the following steps in AE:

  1. Follow the menu path: Maintenance > User Defined > Configuration. The Maintenance - Configuration window appears.
  2. Under the Key Name column locate CDSLink entry. CDSLink row is located.
  3. Under the Key Value column against the CDSLink entry, amend the value to 0. The Key Value is updated.
  4. Click OK to save the changes.

    You will need to exit completely out of AE and log in again for the change to take effect.

    You will now be able to amend client codes.
