In MYOB Tax you may have a locked tax return which you now need to access.
A tax return is generally only locked if it has been previously exported but has not yet been re-imported back into the Tax database. The lock is activated on exporting to ensure that the integrity of the data in the return is maintained until the return is re-imported with any changes that may have been made.  Once the return is re-imported the return is unlocked and able to be accessed.

MYOB strongly advises that you first check if the return has been exported prior to unlocking the return.
If you would like to import the tax return refer to the Knowledge Base Article below that is relevant to you. Exporting and Importing tax returns
If you want to unlock the tax return without re-importing the return first, follow the procedure below.
How to unlock a tax return
  1. Open MYOB Practice Manager and click the Tax icon. The Tax Homepage appears and the Tax - Client Search tab opens.
  2. Highlight the required return. The return is highlight and currently displays a padlock to indicate that it is locked.

If the Enter Master Password window appears, type your password and press ENTER. The default master password is ASSERT.
  3. Select Unlock and click OK. The Tax Homepage displays and the return no longer has a padlock appearing next to it.

The return is now unlocked and you are now able to access the tax return.
